Several of my lesson horses are retired, but I didn't have the heart to delete them from this page. They've played a huge role in teaching many children and adults how to ride and I want to always remember them.
Fleetwinds Jezebl
Fleetwinds, AKA Fleety, is an Arabian Mare. She loves the kids and is known for being very calm and gentle. Fleety is 32 years old and still going strong. She loves to go out for a trail ride and would prefer not to jump (going around is much easier
), but will if you insist. She teaches a beginner rider what a canter is like by only taking a few steps at first. She participates in the KDCTA Drill team each year as well. Everybody loves Fleety! [Fleety is now officially retired now due to suffering a mild heart attack in early May 2007. She is doing fine and enjoying her retirement]

Geronimo's Lil' Feather
AKA Feather is a 26 year old Half-Arabian Cross Mare. Feather, in her younger days, loved to jump...the bigger the better! She was successful in taking her young owner/rider through the Pony Club levels in dressage and jumping. Feather is a little arthritic these days, so doesn't jump anymore, but still likes to go out on the trail and ride in the drill team. She is for the more intermediate rider as she knows in about 2 seconds how experienced you are and will test your skills. Once she knows you are the "leader" she follows right along. [Feather is also now retired. Her 29 years have finally caught up with her.]

Riyahd, Oh My Golly
AKA Riyahd, is an Arabian Gelding with education in the French method of Dressage. He is 31 years old this year and still has plenty of spunk. He is quite capable of teaching students leg yeilds, shoulder-in, haunches-in and correct contact and suppleness. [Riyahd is semi-retired, but has enough get up and go to carry a youngster around--Gotta love those Arabs!]
Delta Gold
Delta is a 10 yr old Registered Paint mare. She loves to lead a trail ride and is learning dressage.
Ginger
Ginger is a 12 yr old 13.1 hh pony. Just the right size for the kids. She's kind of fat
(well, very fat) but should trim down over the next year with excercise and healthy diet.

Charmer
Charmer is a 16 yr old registered Paint Quarter Horse. He comes from a reining background and did a lot of horse showing with his previous owners. He loves to go out on the trail and is learning new skills as an english horse and jumping small fences. His owner Natasha Herrold is seen here modeling barn bonnetts.
